Setting both layers at one seam is what keeps the skirt from lifting away when you run or jump, because the inner short holds the line while the outer panel moves with it.

The skirt panel is gathered rather than pleated, so the folds fall soft and re-form on their own instead of holding a crease. The knit has a matte face, which is why the colour reads deep rather than reflective in daylight, and it keeps the piece looking like a skirt rather than gym kit. Wash it cold and let it dry flat and the gathers keep their shape.

Fit and sizing

This style runs true to standard US sizing, so take the size you normally wear in leggings or shorts. The waist sits high and close, the skirt is short, and the inner short provides full coverage to the upper thigh.

If you are between sizes, take the larger one. The ruched waistband needs a little room to gather rather than stretch flat across the waist, and the extra room keeps the inner short from pulling when you lunge or sit.

Care

Cold machine wash with like colours, inside out.

Do not bleach.

Tumble dry low, or hang to dry to protect the stretch.

Do not iron.

Do not dry clean.

Shipping and returns

Free shipping on orders over $50 to 48 countries worldwide.

Orders leave our studio within a few business days. They are sewn into the same high-rise waist seam as the skirt, which means one piece to pull on and no second waistband. That is also what stops the skirt riding up in a run: the inner short holds the position and the skirt follows it.

Will the skirt ride up when I run or jump?

The short inner layer does most of the work here, because it stays put on the thigh while the outer panel hangs from the waist. In a full sprint or a box jump the skirt will lift and fall with the movement, which is normal for a skort, but it returns to place rather than staying bunched at the hip.

Is it opaque enough to wear without tights?

The knit is dense and opaque in normal wear, including squats and forward folds, and the inner short adds a second layer where it matters. Very pale colourways read lighter in direct sunlight, as pale knits do; the black, cocoa and grey are the most forgiving.

Can I wear it for tennis and court sports?

Yes. The short inner layer covers the upper thigh, the waistband is high and gathered so it does not shift on a serve, and the skirt is cut short enough to clear the leg on a lunge. The matte face also means it sits well with a polo or a cropped tee off court.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0774/7462/7811/files/0_BLK_clean_4718692b-a2dc-47da-91fa-383ab82fdaf4.jpg?v=1793794880
