A full-length legging cut close from waist to ankle, with a contrast panel at the waist that draws the eye up and holds the middle flat.

Why you will love it

  • The waist sits high and carries a contrast cross-over panel, a detail that lifts the line of the waist and keeps the band from reading as a plain elastic top edge.
  • A second-skin fit through the hip, thigh and calf follows long strides and deep lunges, then springs back to shape instead of bagging out at the knee.
  • The knit is a super-stretch blend, so the legging moves with you through a full range and still holds its shape across a class, a run or a long day on your feet.
  • A cuffed ankle finishes the leg cleanly, so the hem stays put inside a trainer or over the foot without riding up mid-session.

Fabric and construction

The knit is 82.5% polyester with 17.5% spandex. The polyester face gives the legging its smooth, matte finish and keeps it opaque in normal wear, while the spandex share is what produces the super-stretch and the recovery: the garment returns to shape after a class rather than holding the creases of the last hour.

The waistband is built from a spliced panel in a lighter contrast tone, joined to the body with flat, low-bulk seams so there is no ridge pressing into the skin when you sit or lie on the mat. The leg is cut in a single panel from hip to ankle with a cuffed hem. Slight variation of 1 to 2 cm between pieces is normal for knitwear, and it is the reason two pairs in the same size can feel a touch different at first wear.

Fit and sizing

This style runs true to standard US sizing, so take the size you normally wear in leggings. It is a close fit by design, which is what keeps the fabric from shifting or sheering through a pose; the waistband sits at the natural waist rather than at the hip.

If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: the knit has plenty of stretch, so the smaller size will still go on, but the larger size sits softer over the hip and keeps the waistband from digging in when you sit. If you prefer a lighter, less compressive feel, size up a single step.

Care

  • Cold machine wash with like colours, inside out.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Tumble dry low, or hang to dry to protect the stretch.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.

Questions

What is the contrast panel at the waist?

It is a spliced panel in a lighter contrast tone, cut as a cross-over at the front of the waistband. It is a construction detail rather than a print, so it will not peel or fade, and it is what gives the waist its lifted line.

Will the waistband roll down when I bend or twist?

The band is cut high and set at the natural waist rather than at the hip, which is what keeps it in position through forward folds and seated twists. As with any knit band, how it holds also depends on fit, which is why we suggest sizing up rather than down if you are between sizes.

Are they opaque enough to wear on their own?

The knit is dense and opaque in normal wear, including deep squats and forward folds. As with any high-stretch knit, a very light colour under strong backlight can show more than a dark one; the black, grey and espresso colourways are the most forgiving.

How long is the leg, and does it stay at the ankle?

The leg is cut full length and finishes in a cuff at the ankle, so the hem sits at the ankle bone rather than pooling. The cuff also keeps the hem from riding up inside a trainer during running or floor work.
