Fabric and construction

The knit is 82.5% polyester and 17.5% spandex, which is a high spandex share for a jacket and the reason it holds a close line without feeling tight across the back. The polyester side gives it a smooth, cool surface that resists pilling where a bag strap rubs, while the spandex lets the fabric move in four directions so the shoulders stay free through overhead work.

Panels are joined with flat seams that sit low against the body, and the front zip is set behind a strip of the same fabric so the teeth do not catch on skin. The hem and cuffs are banded rather than folded, which keeps the edges flat under a layer. Slight variation of 1 to 2 cm between pieces is normal for knitwear.

Fit and sizing

This is a close-fitting jacket that runs true to standard US sizing, from S to XXL. It is cut to sit against the body, so if you want room to layer a bra or a tank underneath, take the next size up. If you plan to wear it as a single layer over a sports bra, your usual size will give the shaped fit you see in the photos.

Because the sleeve ends above the elbow and the body finishes at the hip, the jacket works over high-waist leggings without adding bulk at the waistband. Between two sizes, size up for a softer fit through the chest and down for a more compressed line.

• Cold machine wash with like colours, inside out.

• Tumble dry low, or hang to dry to protect the spandex.

• Do not dry clean.
• Close the zip before washing so the teeth do not snag the knit.

Questions

Can I wear it to a class and then out?

Yes. The shaped seams and stand collar read as a fitted top rather than gym kit, and the hip length works with jeans or a skirt as easily as with leggings.

Does the zip stay up when I move?

The zip sits behind a fabric guard and the collar holds its shape, so it stays where you set it through normal training. During very deep backbends you may want it partly open for room across the chest.

Is it see-through?

The knit is dense and stays opaque in normal wear. In a very light colour under strong direct light you may see the outline of a darker bra strap, which is normal for a close-fitting single layer.

How should I wash it?

Cold machine wash inside out with like colours, close the zip first, tumble dry low or hang to dry, and skip ironing and dry cleaning.
